I use the bus and/or DART nearly every day. We need frequent, reliable and interconnecting public transport and cycling infrastructure.
CSO data shows just over 40% of secondary school students travel to school by car. At 21.2%, Dún Laoghaire fell below the national average for secondary school students using the bus.
Public transport options must become both more affordable and more time efficient than taking the car, otherwise these trends will not change.
We must deliver safe segregated cycle lanes for all cyclists. Parents should not have to worry about their children using bicycles on our public roads. We can no longer accept cyclists sharing the bus lane.
I have signed the Cycling 4 All pledge, and commit to supporting safer and segregated cycle lanes if re-elected.
